Postpartum Resources

In the months after giving birth, it is important to take care of you and baby. Whether it is a safe car seat for baby, parenting support, or a group to meet other moms, there are free and low cost options for Memphis families.

Birth Strides offers a Birth Circle support group for black moms. This space allows for moms to share their birth story with others in a intimate, nonjudgmental space. These meetings are free but not scheduled regularly.

Appleseeds offers  a lot of different types of support to new mothers. They have specific resources to support teens and young mom, birth story support groups, and they are willing to host a discussion on a requested topic in the community.

Beautiful Bundles is a support group hosted my nurses at Baptist Women's Hospital every Thursday afternoon. This is an opportunity to ask nurses questions about your baby and personal wellness and to meet other new moms.

Universal Parenting Place offers support to parents at two locations in Memphis. They support parents through professional counseling, groups, and other individualized resources. These services are free and open to all people.

The maternal and child health program supports families and babies in Shelby County. They provide newborn screenings, lead screenings, and home visits. They also distribute car seats and cribs.
